Feeling a Chill

– Secret Place Insights –

Dear One, feeling a chill, I awoke in the night – uncovered. I reached for the sheet and the thin, woolen blanket at my feet, and laid them lightly over me. Instantly I was comforted by the heat of my body now trapped beneath the covers. The warmth took my thoughts to God and how He covers me each morning with His comforting Presence. He warms me, heart n’ soul, and guides me on my way. With that thought, I drifted into restful slumber.

But the next morning, in my quiet-time room, in my quiet-time chair, with the door shut, I was discomforted. I had a concern. I had been asked to pray that day with someone for an hour over a particular concern. For me, that was not a common request. I had also been asked to meet and pray, the following day, with a different person over another concern. I was disquieted. I wondered, what is my problem?

My question was soon answered. In the silence, behind the shut door, God made it clear. I was the problem. I was concerned that I would let people down, that I would be less than what they wanted, or worse yet, less than what they needed. Wordlessly ….my problem was solved through the Guidance of the Holy Spirit. He gave me the following, not in specific words, but through a flow of understanding. You are troubled because you are less than what they need. They need Me. I will be there. I will do what I always do, provide what you cannot.

I have seen this countless times…God’s provision. But in my humanness, with upcoming duties, fear caused me to forget. “Thank you Lord for reminding me that – I am to do the going, and You the providing.”

Discomfort lifted like fog, and peace filled the low places. This is in God’s hands, not mine. All I am to do – is to be ready, show up, and pray in the way that God has taught me thus far. He will do with it what He will. After that, without fear of the what- ifs, I sat peacefully in His Presence.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves,
but our sufficiency is from God.” 11 Corinthians 3:5

Blessings,
Susanne

Knowing God

Many believers are unaware of the intimate relationship God desires to have with us. Often sermons, and conversations, refer to such a relationship, with little, if any, instructions on how to draw into life-changing fellowship with God. Thus, few listeners are guided through helpful steps for developing one. This website is dedicated to the purpose of knowing God and making Him known.
