A Different Read

– Secret Place Insights –

Dear One, once again Christmas is nearly here, and people everywhere are rushing around taking care of last minute details. It is no different for me. The details leading up to family gatherings can be almost overwhelming. During such times, my quiet time often suffers. It is either shortened, or I am distracted, or I am simply too tired to give God my best. But thankfully the return to normal can hold deep and wondrous blessings. Such was the case a few years ago.

After the weekend, with a rested mind and body, I returned to my quiet time place to what I expected would be the norm, but it was not. I sat thinking of how great it was to be alone and be truly ‘heart’ still with God again. After nearly an hour, I whispered, “Lord, I have not even read any of your Word yet this morning,” and to my astonishment the Holy Spirit whispered back, “This morning you are not reading the Word, you are reading God’s Heart.” I thought how true that was, for that morning God had given me a deeper understanding of Himself than I had ever known before. And within that understanding came the knowledge that there was much, much more to learn. So the Holy Bible, for that quiet time, remained untouched while I in absolute awe gratefully lingered.

God delights in us when we draw near to Him for the purpose of being with Him, James 4:8. So much so, that He sent His Son, in the form of a babe, to become the Savior of our world, opening the way for the Holy Spirit to connect us with God on High. Knowing these Truths makes for the merriest of Christmases.

“Think how in the inner chamber the hour of prayer may become
the happiest time in the whole day for us, and how God may
use us to take a share in the carrying out of His plans,
and make us fountains of blessing for the world around us.”
                                                                                          A. Murray

“That they may see Your good works,
and glorify You, Father. Matthew 5:16

Blessings,
Susanne

Knowing God

Many believers are unaware of the intimate relationship God desires to have with us. Often sermons, and conversations, refer to such a relationship, with little, if any, instructions on how to draw into life-changing fellowship with God. Thus, few listeners are guided through helpful steps for developing one. This website is dedicated to the purpose of knowing God and making Him known.
